How to use the QR code generator
- Choose what the code opens: a website, a profile, a WhatsApp chat or text.
- Fill in the details. For profiles, a username or handle is enough; the tool builds the full link.
- Tick Add UTM tags for website links you want to track in Google Analytics.
- Pick error correction and colours. Keep a dark code on a light background.
- Download PNG for screens and social posts, or SVG for print (it scales without blurring).
- Test it with two different phones before printing.
What each option means

Where to use social media QR codes
- Restaurant tables and menus: link to your Instagram or a WhatsApp order chat.
- Shop windows and packaging: link to reviews, Reels or a product page with UTM tags.
- Business cards and event badges: link to your LinkedIn profile.
- Flyers and posters: use a tagged website link so you can see which print run worked.
- The end of a YouTube video or slide deck: link to your channel or a free resource.
Printing tips
- Use SVG for print so the code stays sharp at any size.
- Don’t make it too small. Our rule of thumb: at least about 2 × 2 cm for a short link on a card, larger for posters or long links.
- Keep contrast high and the code colour darker than the background; the tool warns when contrast is low.
- Keep the quiet zone (the white border) when you place the code in a design.
- Add a short call to action next to it, such as “Scan to see our menu”.

QR Code Generator FAQ
Are these QR codes free and permanent?
Yes. The QR code contains your link directly (a “static” code), so it keeps working as long as the link works. There is no redirect, sign-up or expiry, and nothing passes through our servers.
Can I change the link after printing?
No. A static QR code can’t be edited. If you may change the destination later, point the code at a page on your own website that you control, and update that page instead.
Which error correction level should I choose?
DENSO WAVE, the inventor of the QR code, says Level M (15%) is the one most often selected. Levels Q (25%) and H (30%) recover more of a damaged or dirty code but make the code denser; L (7%) suits clean places and longer content.
How do I make a WhatsApp QR code?
Choose WhatsApp, enter your full number in international format with the country code, and add an optional pre-filled message. The code opens a wa.me click-to-chat link in the format WhatsApp Help describes.
Does Instagram have its own QR code?
Yes. Instagram Help explains how to find and customise your profile QR code under Share profile. This tool is useful when you want one code style for all your platforms, a print-ready SVG, or UTM tracking on a website link.
How do I track scans?
A static QR code can’t count scans by itself. For website links, tick Add UTM tags so Google Analytics shows visits from the code as source qr_code and medium offline.
Is anything I type saved?
No. QR codes are made in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
